our aunt jenn got some really pretty new streaks of red in her hair. jenn has an adorable style and can pull off beautifully what i never could. against her dark hair its very striking.
well today i mentioned to the kids that i need to get a haircut and maybe some color. i said maybe i should get some streaks like jenn. they got excited…’really?!!’ ‘nah, i don’t think i could get away with that.’
‘why don’t more people do that?’ evan asked.
‘i have no idea.’ i answered.
emmi piped up, ‘is it because they think its cool and they don’t want to be cool?’
probably.

i think you could pull off anything you wanted to. my hair has been pretty much every color of the rainbow. it’s a lot of trial and error. you just have to see what works. keep in mind color can always be fixed!
In the words of Homer Simpson, after a very insightful thought by Lisa, “Ha ha. Kids say the stupidest things.” It’s sometimes funny how kids put their thoughts, but that often turns over insight that adult language doesn’t.
