the louvre

this week c and i took evan (and elise) to the high to see the louvre atlanta exhibit. we perused paintings and sculptures acquired by louis XIV and louis XVI. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. evan got so into it that desite repeated firm whispered warnings not to touch, he became so engrossed with one painting (it had a plethora of huge flowers at the top and near the bottom some armor – thats what was the draw, the armor), he just HAD to touch it. so Feb March 2007 015-1there you have it. if you find out that evan has been thrown in some dungeon in france that’s why. i’m sure that’s what they do to people who touch the art in the louvre.

anyway, our favorite (mine and evans) was not in the louvre exhibit but in the regular part of the high. it was a sculpture of rebekah of the Bible. a beautiful rendition of a woman with a veil over her face – “all out of rock!” as evan would say. it was quite impressive.

inspiring to the youngest of artists.
