elise’s birthday fell almost exactly on our beach trip this year and since our cousins were going to the beach with us, well, a beach party was no doubt called for. we had a brightly colored table set within view of the sea (look carefully out the sliding glass door). i got to try my hand for the first time at a sandcastle cake. perfect for our sandprincess. we had a yummy meal by h and then fun gifts from everyone. a beautiful dress from grandmama, an already-very-loved dolly from the cousins, and great clothes from lam. we ate jelly beans and pop rocks until we dropped off to sleep still smiling. a happy day for the happiest of girls.
