for the fourth of july this year we had an all-american cookout at leah’s new house in marietta. killer hamburgers by andrew and all the fixin’s by leah…including homemade brown sugar ice cream and grandmother’s peach cobbler. leah truly outdid herself. remi and ruger were more than excited to have us over too — quite the host and hostess. they chased and ran around until they were exhausted soaking in all the attention.
we had a little wrestling in the grass and an impromptu wheelbarrow race or two. we chatted and played with the pups.
then at dusk we all walked into town and met up with the rowells for fireworks. americana at its best.
